Common questions about Remosse, the video calling app for music lessons.

Remosse is a 1:1 video calling app built for music lessons (piano, voice, strings, and more). The host (who issues the QR code) shares a QR code; the guest scans it to start a low-latency call.
No. Guests use Remosse completely free—installing the app, scanning QR codes, and joining calls costs nothing.
Today Remosse is iPhone and iPad only. Android, Windows, and browser clients are not supported. We may consider other platforms in the future.
We primarily support Sign in with Apple. Choose it on first launch to get started.
You can also use “guest mode” without signing in to scan QR codes and join calls, but iCloud sync and the free trial require signing in.
There are four plans: Starter, Basic, Standard, and Pro. Check current pricing in the app (App Store).
| Plan | QR issuances (per cycle) | Time pool (per cycle) | Daily call cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 6 | 4 hours (240 min) | 2 hours |
| Basic | 15 | 10 hours (600 min) | 3 hours |
| Standard | 30 | 20 hours (1,200 min) | 6 hours |
| Pro | 60 | 40 hours (2,400 min) | 12 hours |
It is the total lesson time you can still assign to new QR codes in your current billing cycle (until your subscription renews). Each time you issue a QR code, the minutes you choose are deducted from this pool.
For example, on Basic (10-hour pool) if you issue three 60-minute lessons, the pool becomes 10h − 3h = 7 hours.
No. The time pool and QR issuance counts reset on your subscription renewal date. Unused quota does not carry over.
Your current cycle continues—QR counts and pool balance are not reset. Only the plan limits change to the new plan’s caps.
Example: on Basic with 200 minutes left, upgrading to Standard keeps 200 minutes while raising the cap to 20 hours.
Per App Store rules, downgrades and cancellations take effect at the next renewal; your current plan stays until then. After renewal, the new plan (or free tier) applies.
QR counts and the time pool reset to the new plan’s limits on that date.
It is the maximum host call time per calendar day. When you hit it, you cannot start more host calls until midnight (local reset). This is separate from the time pool.
The duration you pick when issuing a QR code is allocated to that lesson (e.g. a 60-minute QR starts with 60 minutes on the timer). You can choose 15–180 minutes.
During the call the timer counts down; when it reaches zero the call ends. The system session limit is 3 hours.
You’ll see the free tier. You can’t issue QR codes or start host calls, but you can still view past lessons and join as a guest.
If you previously had a paid plan, you cannot return to the free trial after cancelling.
Yes. Everyone who signs in with an Apple account gets:
It starts when you first issue a QR code or start a call as a host. The 14-day clock does not start immediately after sign-in—you choose when to begin.
No. Once you join a paid plan, the free trial ends. After cancellation or expiry you’re on the free tier and cannot go back to the trial.
Lesson deletion is not available on the trial. Use your QR issuances and time as issued. Upgrade to a paid plan if you need deletion with quota refunds.
It is the time budget for that one lesson (call). Choose from 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 150, or 180 minutes, or enter any value from 15–180 minutes.
That amount is deducted from your cycle’s time pool, and the call ends automatically when the timer runs out.
Yes. When issuing a QR code you can set a start date and time together with the lesson name, up to 30 days from today.
If you skip a time, the lesson is treated as “join anytime.”
Calls are 1:1 only (host + one guest). Only one guest can join per QR code.
After about two months from issuance, codes may be archived automatically. While valid, you can share the same QR with your guest as needed.
It shows issued count / plan limit for your current billing cycle (until renewal). When you hit the limit you can’t issue more until the cycle resets.
Try one of the following:
You can join 15 minutes before the scheduled start. Before that you can save the lesson or add it to Calendar or Google Calendar.
Lessons without a scheduled time can be joined right after scanning.
Join now goes straight to the join flow. It appears for lessons without a time, or within 15 minutes of start.
Save adds the lesson to your list for later. For upcoming lessons you can add to calendar after saving.
Yes. When a guest enters, the host sees a join request. After the host taps allow, the guest’s audio and video connect.
If the host isn’t in the call yet or the network is slow, wait a moment and try again.
Remosse supports at most two people (host + one guest). If a guest is already connected, another guest cannot use the same QR.
Ask the host to issue a new QR for a different participant.
This can happen when:
If the code expired or was cancelled, ask the host for a new QR.
Yes. In-call audio has TALK mode (conversation-focused, stronger noise reduction) and MUSIC mode (better for instruments and singing). Switch modes to match your lesson.
All plans can use them; the catalog depends on your plan.
Roughly similar to typical video apps (TALK mode lower, MUSIC mode somewhat higher). Wi-Fi is recommended when possible.
Use Network check in Settings before important lessons.
Targets: 1.5 Mbps or faster, latency 150 ms or less, packet loss under 3% (rough guide for 720p / 30fps). Results are estimates.
With notifications enabled you may get:
You can turn notifications off and still use your lesson list, QR scanning, and calls.
Yes. Use the device Settings app to change Remosse’s notification permission. Inside Remosse you can toggle 15-minute lesson reminders and host alerts when a QR is scanned.
It shows the next upcoming saved lesson on your Home Screen or Lock Screen. Tapping opens join prep if there’s a scheduled lesson, or your lesson list if not.
Refresh timing depends on iOS; it may take a moment to update.
It depends on your plan and the lesson state.
| Plan | Delete before start | Delete within 30 min after start | Delete after 30 min |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter Basic Standard |
1 QR issuance + full pool time back | Pool time only (QR already consumed) | No refund (delete still allowed) |
| Pro | 1 QR issuance + full pool time back | Pool time back regardless of elapsed time (QR still consumed) | |
| Trial | Lesson deletion is not available | ||
Refunds apply to your current billing cycle. A toast after deletion explains what was restored.
Common reasons:
After an upgrade the app may still be fetching new subscription dates from Apple, so refunds can be temporarily pending.
The list header shows “Quota refund pending” while waiting. Bringing the app to the foreground usually completes sync within seconds to a few minutes.
Yes. Issuance count won’t go below zero, so the count may stay at 0 while pool minutes can still increase when rules allow. The toast shows what changed.
No. A guest removing a lesson from their list only clears their local list. It does not change the host’s QR count or time pool.
Yes. When signed in with an Apple account, open Settings in the app and choose Delete account and data. Follow the confirmation steps (you may need to type delete to confirm).
This removes, within Remosse’s scope, lessons you host, guest-saved lesson copies, display name profile, and related records in this app’s CloudKit container, and may clear some on-device caches and sign-in trial data. Network issues can prevent complete deletion.
You don’t need to redo onboarding; you can keep using the app as a guest.
To cancel a paid subscription, use App Store subscription management. Deleting account data does not stop billing.
See section 8 of the Privacy Policy for details.
This action deletes data Remosse controls. You must handle separately:
Always cancel paid plans in App Store subscription settings.
Sign out disconnects your Apple account on this device. CloudKit lessons or profiles may remain in iCloud.
Delete account and data deletes Remosse-managed cloud and local data within the described scope (see the Privacy Policy for exclusions).
Yes, on devices signed into the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled. QR counts, time pool, and lesson lists sync via iCloud and CloudKit.
With iCloud enabled for the same Apple ID, QR counts, pool balance, and lessons are stored in CloudKit and typically restore after reinstall.
If iCloud is off or you sign in with a different Apple ID, data won’t carry over.
Yes. In Settings, use Restore purchases on a device signed in with the same Apple ID.
After scanning a QR code and saving the lesson, guests can add it to the device Calendar (Apple Calendar) or Google Calendar.
